The Olympus SP-590UZ features 12MP resolution (on a 1/2.33-in. CCD), an amazing 26x wide-angle optical zoom (26–676mm equiv.) and a large 2.7-in. (230K dots) LCD. Sensor-shift Image Stabilization helps to reduce blur due to camera shake at long tele.
The SP-590UZ provides full exposure control with PASM and Scene Modes. It has an electronic viewfinder (EVF).
Shadow Adjustment Technology retains detail when dark shadows are prevalent or when shooting in backlit situations. A Beauty Mode lets you smooth a person’s skin, removing unwanted wrinkles or blemishes. Soft Background Focus enables you to slightly blur the background in a landscape shot to accent the subject in the foreground. Pre-capture automatically archives 10 frames (3 MP) as soon as the focus is locked to capture the perfect shot. In-Camera Panorama captures 3 images and stitches them together to create one panoramic picture by simply pressing the shutter button and slowly panning across the scene. Smile Shot detects a smile on your subject’s face and automatically fires off 3 consecutive shots to capture that perfect smile.
The Olympus SP-590UZ should appeal to
beginner and serious amateur photographers who desire an ultra
zoom with a high degree of control, a wide-angle
optical zoom, sensor-shift image stabilization, and lots of
other useful practical features.
