2010 FIFA World Cup to be filmed in 3D

FIFA and Sony Corporation to announce new details of FIFA World Cup™ in 3D

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and its partner Sony Corporation are joining forces to provide football fans around the world with a new viewing experience during the forthcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. It will be the first time ever for the FIFA World Cup to be filmed in 3D.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts in central London will be the venue for the joint press conference on Thursday, 8 April where Niclas Ericson, FIFA Director of TV, Hiroko Saito, Deputy General Manager Global Sponsorships at Sony Corporation, and David Bush, Marketing Director at Sony Professional Europe, will unveil details of their undertaking to film 25 matches in 3D and to share this new entertainment experience with viewers around the globe.
