A Wide-Angle Lens for Portrait

There are times when a wide-angle lens is just what is called for in a portrait.

We usually use a short telephoto lens (90-105mm) for portrait shots. This helps compress the elements, blur the background and isolate the main subject nicely. But there are times when you want to situate your subject in his or her environment, as in the following portrait taken in a bar.
