Abby Sunderland, 2 Months Milestone

Abby Sunderland
Abby Sunderland

Remember Abby Sunderland, the 16-year old girl who set off on a world record nonstop, unassisted solo-circumnavigation of the globe by sea? She left from the Marina Del Rey Yacht Club, Calif. in her sailboat, Wild Eyes, on Saturday, Jan 23, 2010, and next Tuesday will mark the 2 months mark. Abby plans to complete her round-the-world trip June 2010. This means she has about three more months to go. Reading her blog, she certainly acts more mature than her 16 years, facing storms and navigating to avoid them. In fact, she is approaching the hazardous Cape Horn, the most southerly point of South America. She stays in touch with her family via satellite phone.

Read her day-to-day adventure on: Abby’s blog.
