Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM Lens: NANO USM Technology for High-Speed & Near-Silent Focusing in Still & Video Modes, Enhanced Image Stabilizer and Lens Information Display

Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM: Image grab from video below

Editor’s note: Does the maximum apertures on the new Canon EF 70-300mm zoom lens start at f/4.5-5.6 or f/4-5.6? The press release says f/4.5-5.6 but the images (and video below) we have of the lens and the lens specs published agree on f/4-5.6. Easy typo to make on the press release, but expensive typo if it’s in the lens engraving. So, as you read the following press material and watch the video, just know it’s most probably really f/4-5.6, until further clarifications from Canon.

  • Image Stabilizer effect at up-to-4* stops of shake correction helps capture sharp images.
  • Circular aperture (9 blades) helps deliver beautiful, soft backgrounds.
  • Full-time manual focus allows manual focus adjustment while in AF Mode.

The Canon EF 70-300mm F/4.5-5.6 IS II USM lens is scheduled to be available in November 2016, for an estimated retail price of $549.99**.
