I took a good look at the specs of the Canon EOS M5 and wondered what were different from those of the EOS Rebel T6s. Guess what? Not much, besides the M5 being smaller and lighter, of course.
Does it still make sense, therefore, for Canon to persist going the DSLR route when the EOS M5 is basically the mirrorless version of the T6s? The entry-level Rebel line is the right one for Canon to start switching over to mirrorless, and the replacement for the T6s/T6i is the right one to make the switch over to mirrorless — which, whether Canon likes it or not, is inevitable.
Wouldn’t it be something if the replacement for the DSLR T6s/T6i is a mirrorless T7? Now, that would be “uniquely” Rebel-lious. If it’s not, oh well… sorry, move along, nothing to see here.
