Canon’s New Cosmos of Photography 2016 Contest for Anyone, Regardless of Age or Nationality: Submit Still Images & Videos Online Between April 20 & June 8 (Midnight), 2016

Canon recently announced that entry applications for New Cosmos of Photography 2016 (the 39th competition) photo competition will be accepted from April 20, 2016 using its Web Entry Application system.

The New Cosmos of Photography is Canon’s cultural support project to discover, nurture, and support new photographers who pursue new possibilities in creative photographic expression. The annual contest, launched in 1991, has been open to the public regardless of the age or nationality of the contestant or the number or format of entered works. As such, the contest encourages the creation of original works that push the boundaries of photography’s potential and systematically assists and nurtures award winners through exhibitions and published collections of their winning works as well as through publicity on the New Cosmos of Photography website…..

Still images and videos / movies have a seamless relationship. We are hoping that, by expanding the definition of eligible entries, new, never-seen-before creative expressions will again be produced that push beyond today’s photography concepts and categories. We also want to offer even more encouragement to the creation of works by new photographers who are applying new techniques and ingenuity to give us a glimpse of the next frontier.

It is our sincere hope the New Cosmos of Photography will continue to be the place where people pursuing the possibilities of photographic expression can take their first big step.

We look forward to entries that provide a glimpse of tomorrow‘s photography.
