Tamron recently announced the compatibility of certain Tamron lenses on mirrorless full-frame cameras Nikon Z 6 & Z 7 and Nikon mount adapter FTZ, and on mirrorless full-frame cameras Canon EOS R and EOS RP and Canon EF-EOS R mount adapter.

Compatibility of Tamron lenses with Nikon Z6 / Z7 and Canon EOS R / RP

Many Tamron lenses can be used with the lens adapter in conjunction with the mirrorless full-frame system cameras from Canon (e.g. EOS R/RP) and Nikon (e.g. Z6/Z7). For full compatibility, an update of the lens firmware is required for older Tamron Models. Newer Models are shipped with compatible firmware.

You can easily update the firmware yourself with the Tamron TAP-in console. Screw the lens onto the console, which you then connect to the computer via USB cable. Start the software “TAP-in Utility” and follow the steps of the update instructions. You can download the software here.
