Also released are new DJI Googles 2 and DJI Motion Controller which, when used with the DJI Avata, allow for a much-easier to control immersive flight. The DJI Avata features 48MP on a 1/1.7” CMOS sensor, 4K/60fps and 2.7K/50/60/100/120fps video, an ultra-wide-angle F2.8 lens with a viewing angle of up to 155°, and up to 18 minutes flight time.

The DJI Avata can hover, accelerate, zoom in and out of tight spaces, and stop in a fraction of a second. DJI RockSteady eliminates overall picture shake, and DJI HorizonSteady keeps the picture oriented toward true level. Save the video footage to 20 GB of internal storage or onto a microSD card. The DJI Avata can withstand minor collisions thanks to its built-in propeller guards and should it fall and land upside down, a new Turtle Mode allows it to flip back up and take off again.

The Emergency Brake and Hover feature stops the drone in mid-flight and lets it hover in place. The Failsafe Return to Home feature brings the drone back to its home point automatically with a press of a button, or when transmission is lost, or when the battery reaches a critically low level.
