Painfully Extreme Slow Motion Video

Locked in a Vegas Hotel Room with a Phantom Flex from Tom Guilmette on Vimeo.

This is one extreme slow motion (I’m talking 2,564 fps) filmed using a Phantom Flex high speed digital cinema camera that I found very painful to watch. Tom, did we really need to see your lips do the Samba and watch as you spit into our face? Nor would RIM probably appreciate the “drop test” you performed on their Blackberry; we saw things jiggle. But the tiny weenie water droplets were fabulous to watch. It’s an amazing camera and we can’t wait for some real footage from you using the Phantom.

Got to admit, though, that we have difficulty conceiving when there would ever need be, in a commercial film, to see that extreme kind of slow motion? I can see some incredible medical use using high powered microscopes.
