Fish, Rock, Clam — First Photo of a Fish Using a Tool (Rock) to open a Clam

This is the first ever photo of a fish using a tool to open a clam. It holds the clam in its mouth and knocks it against a large rock to try to break open the clam. Professional diver Scott Gardner was exploring Australia’s Great Barrier Reef when he heard and saw a footlong blackspot tuskfish holding a clam in its mouth and whacking it against a rock. When the clam shell cracked open, the fish was able to gobble up the content. Gardner had his camera ready and recorded what is probably the first photo of a fish using a tool.
