Fujifilm GFX-50S Review

The Fujifilm GFX-50S is the first Medium Format Digital Camera by Fujifilm. With it, they introduced an entire GFX platform based on a 44x33mm sensor and new GF-mount to support one of their native lenses, all of which are designed to handle at least 100 megapixels in the future.

As the flagship and only camera in the GFX platform, the mirrorless Fujifilm GFX-50S offers a 50 megapixels CMOS sensor with standard Bayer Color-Filter Array and hybrid Front-Curtain Electronic Shutter. This camera offers a broad sensitivity range of ISO 50-102400 and shutter-speeds from 1/16000s to 60 minutes, available as Timed or Bulb exposures.

This professional digital camera is both weather-sealed and freezeproof. Unusually, its viewfinder is optional yet the unit sold offers a best-in-class 3.7 megapixels of resolution and very large 0.85X magnification while always providing 100% coverage.

Neocamera just published a truly detailed review of the Fujifilm GFX-50S. This review takes a critical look at the whole system and offers unique insights on the GFX-50S. It is a must read of anyone who wants to understand this new and exiting Medium Format Digital platform!
