Google Quietly Upgrades Docs

When Google announced Docs way back in Internet history, there was a small stir, but not much. After all, who could, and dared, disturb the Giant of Redmond with its bloated Word?

Google did — and Docs gave the online community an easy way to write, edit and share documents and spreadsheets right on the Web, available anywhere you have access to a browser. One problem though: different browsers displayed the docs differently.

Today, Google announced it has updated Docs with new features, especially synching how different browsers displayed a Docs document, so that a Docs document now looks the same in any browser. Docs now also supports real-time editing by multiple users.

And, of course, being a Web app, there is nothing you, as a [home or corporate] user, need to do: no download — it’s already updated and you just need to use it!
