The decisive moment is what street photographers are mostly after: to be able to capture the moment when everything (composition, expression, light) seems to come together to give the most powerful image that, in one snapshot, expresses the whole event. Unlike the painter who has the luxury of painting what his eyes have seen moments before, the photographer runs the risk of missing that decisive moment.
