How Photographers See The World

Ahn Sang-Soo has probably captured more than anyone else how photographers see the world: through one eye. Her series (and you can contribute to it if you like, like the picture above submitted by Sonya Stupenkova) shows people of all walks of life seeing through one eye, just like when you are at the optometrist and she or he tells you to place one hand in front of one of your eyes — or as photographers do as they peer into their camera. Well, not so much for photographers today since we mostly use the LCD screen, but more those who used the film cameras of old. Maybe someone should start photographing people with both arms extended?
