How To Shoot Film and Video at the same time

Doug Mills, Times Two from NYTimes Lens on Vimeo.

Doug Mills is a staff photographer in the Washington bureau of The New York Times and has come up with a way how he can shoot video and stills at the same time. He simply mounts his video camera atop his still camera.

As the video shows, the results are not bad at all, though the contraption must make for a heavy load.

I do believe that as DSLRs improve we’ll be able to shoot video and get a stills from any frame of that video. You can do that with some compact digicam already.
