What you are hearing is a real song from a LP and not a DJ scratch sound effect. No, this is not a DJ scratch turntable but a LP (Long-Playing) record player playing a vinyl record. The latter predates the magnetic cassette player, the CD player and the digital player.

I thought I’d post it here as a momento of something that is already a distant past. You see one in a garage sale, snatch it up. May be worth a fortune.

Someone should use this song as background music for a stop-motion about New York.
