“I LOVE LA” – The Photographic Experience Los Angeles Seen Through the Eyes of 42 Photographers
“It may often seem hard – especially to outsiders – to find a ‘city’ in LA, but it is never hard to find something to look at. Glamorous, vigorous, scabrous, hilarious, mysterious, and ridiculous by turns, Tinseltown invariably glistens.” – excerpt from Peter Frank’s review of “I Love LA.”
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 04, 2011
“I Love LA” is having its gala opening reception on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 7-9 pm at the Wilshire Grand hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The event is free and open to the public.
All of the 50 collectable works in this exhibition will be on display and many of the 42 photographer-artists will be on hand to discuss their works and sign exhibition books. See http://www.facebook.com/iLoveLaExhibition for details.
This exhibition was selected from over 700 submitted images by a jury of art experts: Steven Banks, design director of Los Angeles magazine; Barbara Davidson, Pulitzer Prize-winning LA Times photojournalist; Daniel Miller, director Duncan Miller Gallery; Rebecca Morse, associate curator at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; and Karen Sinsheimer, curator of photography at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
On August 13, this collection will go on display at LA’s Duncan Miller Gallery (http://www.duncanmillergallery.com) through September 17th. The exhibit is then set to tour a variety of locations outside of LA in 2012.
