Inside Media: Remembering 9/11

As the 10th anniversary of 9/11 approaches, the Newseum continues its series of programs looking back at the events of the day with two journalists who will share their perspectives.
Andrea Roane is the morning anchor for WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C., and helped lead the station’s coverage throughout the day on Sept. 11, 2001. She will celebrate her 30th anniversary at WUSA-TV in August.
Mike Walter is a former morning anchor for WUSA-TV. In 2009, he wrote and directed the acclaimed documentary “Breaking News, Breaking Down,” which chronicled how journalists coped with covering terror and tragedy. He also contributed to two books about Sept. 11: “Covering Catastrophe” and “Broadcasting through Crisis.”
About the Program:
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11, the Newseum, in partnership with USA Today, will offer a series of programs and events to help the public understand the lasting impact of the catastrophe.
The special program is free with paid admission to the Newseum. Seating is on a space-available basis.
