Jaw-dropping footage of a dragonfly evading a predatory leaping frog

When Dr. Andrew Mountcastle, Harvard researcher, ventured out to a city park in Seattle to film insects in flight, he accidentally captured footage that awe-inspired viewers. He had set his camera to focus on a perch of twigs and rocks near water to film the spotted skimmers taking off and landing. At one moment he looked away, heard a splash and when he looked back the action was gone. It wasn’t until he reviewed the video that he saw the footage of a spotted skimmer dragonfly evading a leaping frog that the camera had captured in super slow-motion glory.
