Ladies & Gentlemen, Meet The First iPhone Band

From weareatomictom

When New York band Atomic Tom got all their instruments stolen, they got out their iPhones, set each to a virtual musical instrument, got onto a subway, and gave a performance that is now going viral.

Ah, but, wait a minute before you retell the story. In an interview with ABC News, the band admitted that their instruments did not get stolen (it would just make a better sob story), and it was not all that spontaneous (they had planted small battery-powered amplifiers under the seats for better sound quality).

Guys, there’s no spontaneous stuff anymore. Some people even still believe the myriad reality TV shows are spontaneous. The use of iPhone virtual instruments is a great idea; the deception was wholly unnecessary, and a sign of our times.
