Learn Animation From the National Film Board

We post stop-motion videos from time to time and you may think it’s complicated. But the good folks at the National Film Board (Canada) are holding animation workshops for children ages 3 – 14 for $5 (yes, 5 buckaroos) with accompanying adults participating for free!

If I were you, I would grab me a child and rush down there. A new animation technique is offered every month. Here’s the November schedule.

For a sample of what you (uh, your child) would be creating, see the video at: Sweet & Loveable. [Wait for it to load. It’s worth it.]

While your child makes the clay models and animate them, the NFB folks capture every move on “film” (um, what expression do we use in the digital age?). Or, bring your own camera!
