“Life’s a beach!” Photo Contest – Blue Flag Canada: Contest is Open to Canadian Residents: Submit Your Canadian Beach Photos Before Midnight EST on August 31, 2015

The Blue Flag is an international eco-certification for beaches and marinas. When you see a Blue Flag flying, you know a beach or marina meet high water, safety and environmental standards. Meet some of the communities in Canada that are flying Blue Flags at their beaches and marinas, and learn more about what this symbol of excellence means to them.

There’s no better place to be during the lazy, hazy days of summer than at the beach! Beaches are the perfect places relax, swim, and enjoy spending time in nature. And there are thousands across the country to explore.

Show us your photos highlighting the best of your favourite Canadian beach – people splashing in the water and playing in the sand, or the wildlife and habitat that makes it unique – for a chance to win up to $1,000 of brand new camera gear.

1st place – $1,000

2nd place – $500

3rd place – $250

This contest is hosted by Environmental Defence’s Blue Flag Canada program. The Blue Flag is an internationally recognized and respected eco-label awarded to beaches and marinas that have achieved international standards in four categories: water quality, environmental management, environmental education, and safety and services.
