As of September 1, 2017, Leica has a new CEO. They did not have to go outside, since Matthias Harsch has been the Leica Board Member responsible for Sales, Retail and Marketing & Corporate Communications since April 2017. Before that, he was a partner at candidus management consulting. He is probably best known as the CEO of LOEWE AG from February 01, 2013 to September 2014 where he led a successful turnaround of the company. He served as Managing Director for the Bizerba Group since 2003 and was responsible for global sales and marketing, as well as Bizerba’s China operations.
The Supervisory Board of Leica Camera AG has appointed Mr Matthias Harsch (52) as the Chief Executive Officer of Leica Camera AG as of 1 September 2017. He will be succeeding Oliver Kaltner, who will be leaving the company as of 31 August 2017.
Matthias Harsch has been the Leica Board Member responsible for Sales, Retail and Marketing & Corporate Communications since April 2017. He previously led a successful turnaround as the CEO of LOEWE AG and spent many years at the helm of the Bizerba Group as a director. Before joining Leica, Matthias Harsch was a partner at candidus management consulting.
