Music Video Uses Scooter To “Zoom”

There are two ways to zoom in a still picture: 1) zoom using the optical zoom on your camera lens, and 2) use your feet and walk. But what if you want to include the zooming effect in your video? In fact, many cameras today allow you to zoom while recording video. Whether you use manual zoom or power zoom, you are still restricted to the amount of zoom of your lens (though the long zoom cameras are now up to 42x optical zoom).

Kalle Mattson has added a third way to zoom way past the capability of any digital camera lens: he uses his scooter with a camera mounted on the front and simply drives the distance while recording. He then selects a small number of frames to simulate the incredible zoom effect you see in this video.
