They received more than 15,500 entries from around the glode and chose 10 (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 7 Merit Winners). The First Place Winner is Wagner Araujo with his B&W Brazil Aquathlon entry photographed during the championship held at the Ponta Negra Beach in Rio Negro. “I photographed it from the water and my lens got completely wet, but there was so much energy in these boys that I just didn’t worry about that.” His prize is a 10-day Galápagos National Geographic Expedition for two.
