NEW YORK, NY–(Marketwired – November 19, 2015) – B&H Photo would like to share the announcement of the Leica M (Typ 262) Digital Rangefinder Camera: a full-frame 24MP camera that is geared toward photographers. The Leica M (Typ 262) is equipped with a full-frame 24MP CMOS sensor that is supported by Leica’s expedient Maestro processor, providing a maximum ISO of 6400, ideal for shooting in low light without the concerns of distracting digital noise. This setup also provides a continuous shooting rate of 3 fps and the ability to capture raw DNG files.

Cosmetically, the New M closely follows Leica’s motto of “Das Wesentliche” or “the essentials,” by reducing the camera’s overall weight and shrinking the menu down to just two pages. The M (Typ 262) has a top plate constructed of aluminum, reducing the weight by 3.5 oz compared to previous models. Along with this, the “step” at the end of the top plate has been reduced in size, as well as the Leica logo, which appears smaller than on its sister models.
