PRESS RELEASE

Nikon Canada: Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival’s official camera partner
Come celebrate the world’s largest photography festival with a weekly contest, lecture series, student scholarships and photo walk with Nikon Canada

Mississauga, ON, May 1, 2015 – For the fifth year in a row, Nikon Canada is partnering with Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival to host a series of events designed to celebrate creativity and innovation in photography. CONTACT is an annual event in May with over 1,000 Canadian and international artists and photographers exhibiting at more than 175 venues throughout Toronto.

All photographers have uniquely interesting visions of the world around us, and they all share a desire to use their lens to illuminate, explore, enrich and share their vision. In that spirit, as the official camera partner of CONTACT, Nikon Canada will be hosting a “Picture Your World” weekly photo contest, an educational lecture series by Nikon Canada Ambassadors, and the inaugural Nikon Photo Walk, as well as providing three photography students with sponsorships to the Magnum Workshop Toronto.

“Picture Your World” weekly photo contest: May 1-31, 2015

Each week of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, Nikon Canada will focus on a different assignment. Judges will be looking at how each photo best reflects the thematic focus: “Picture Your World.”

That winner will receive a CONTACT limited edition print of Extended Breathing with Moving Grasses, 2009 by Suzy Lake (retail value $1,500). The winning photos will also be featured on Nikon Canada’s dedicated site for CONTACT, Nikon Canada’s Facebook and YouTube pages, and on the CONTACT website.
