Wi-Fi and NFC ready. The Nikon D7200 is a DX-format DSLR with built-in Wi-Fi and Near Field Communication (NFC). The Nikon D7200 features a 24.2MP CMOS image sensor with no optical low-pass filter, ISO range of 100-25,600 (expandable to 102,400 in B&W), 6fps continuous shooting, 51-point AF system, Full HD (1920 x 1080 at 30/25/24p) video with stereo sound and a tiltable LCD.
The D7200 uses Nikon’s powerful 51-point AF system with 15 cross-type sensors, providing AF sensitivity down to -3EV. It’s fast and responsive, shooting 6 fps at full resolution into a large buffer capacity that can handle up to approx. 100 shots of continuous shooting when in JPEG/fine/large (27 shots in 12-bit lossless compressed RAW). It features a tiltable 3.2-inch 1,229k dot tilting Vari-angle LCD display.
You can record Full HD 1080 footage at 30/25/24p. Flat Picture Control allows for easier color grading in post processing. For best sound quality, the optional wireless Bluetooth microphone ME-W1 records high-quality monaural audio from up to 50m (164 feet) away. Connect the ME-W1 wireless monaural microphone to the optional Stereo Microphone for wireless stereo audio and music recording.
A time-lapse photography function smooths abrupt changes in exposure between frames:
You can wirelessly connect to the D7200 with a compatible smartphone or tablet by just touching your compatible smartphone or tablet with NFC to the D7200 to establish a Wi-Fi connection. Once connected, you can use your smart device to browse photos on the D7200 and then share your favorites by text message, email or posting online. You can also use your smart device as a remote for the D7200.
The D7200 includes auto bracketing up to 9 frames and built-in HDR for creating images with dynamic range. Get creative with Picture Controls and Image Effects (can be applied to both photos and videos in real time). You can preserve the details in highlights and shadows, even when the scene includes moving subjects, with Active D-Lighting, and set white balance simply by selecting the area of the frame that should be white.
The D7200’s built-in flash can wirelessly trigger and control remote Speedlights with i-TTL communication in Commander Mode. Want high-speed data transfers? Use the optional UT-1 Communication Unit for wired LAN connection, or wirelessly connect to an FTP server or computer with the UT-1 with the optional WT-5A/B/C/D. Add Nikon’s optional Camera Control Pro 2 software to control the D7200 from a computer.
You can purchase the D7200 with the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm F/3.5-5.6G ED VR all-purpose zoom lens as a kit. Other lenses you may consider include the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 ED VR super-telephoto zoom lens for a 16.7x optical zoom and the AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 85mm F/3.5G ED VR lens for macro shots.
