Nikon Goes Retro, Sort Of

Retro is all the rage, maybe. Nikon has patented a digital back that can turn your 35mm film Nikon SLRs into DSLRs! See, shutter speed dial, aperture ring, all the manual controls that you love are all there.

But I say, forget about digital backs. Someone please design a 35mm film cartridge with a 36×24 mm image sensor attached. We can then simply drop this into any 35mm SLR to instantly convert it into a DSLR. All the required circuitry, firmware, CPU and storage media would be hidden inside the film cartridge (which may include Wi-Fi capability).
