Nikon has released a video that hints at a return to a retro camera. Rumors are swirling that it is going to be a Digital FM (Nikon DF “Digital Fusion“), apparently a D610 in a retro design. The Nikon FM was a popular and beautifully crafted camera, and there’s a lot of excitement for the DF. It remains to be seen if the retro design is simply cosmetic or users will be delighted with a separate shutter speed dial and aperture ring.

Let’s hope the smart folks at Nikon realize it’s not just a traditional-mirrored Digital F DSLR that people are waiting from them; the real thirst is for a 35mm mirrorless Digital SP. (Now, that’s a beauty.)
