QUICKFACT SHEET
The Nikon Z6II is Nikon’s full-frame mirrorless camera targeted to enthusiast photographers and videographers. It improves on the Z6 with dual card slots, dual processors, a more powerful battery, and the availability of an optional vertical battery grip.
The Nikon Z6II should have been Nikon first full-frame mirrorless camera, but Nikon couldn’t wait and introduced the Z6 (and Z 7) back in January 2020. Nine months (and thousands of customer feedback complaints/suggestions later), the Z6II now looks like a polished and solid full-frame mirrorless camera. It’s Eye AF is still missing the stickiness of its main competitor, and the awkwardness of its AF area mode selection need to be addressed in a future upgrade (or firmware update, if possible). Otherwise, there’s not much to fault with the camera.
Main features:
– Excellent 24.5MP Full-Frame BSI Sensor
– Super fast and precise AF with People, Animal and Vehicle tracking
– AF is sensitive down to -4.5EV (Low-Light AF: -6EV)
– 14fps Continuous Shooting and 1/8000 sec. shutter
– 3.2-in. 2.1M-dot Tilt Touchscreen LCD
– High-resolution 3.69M-dot OLED EVF
– 4K/30P Video for 30 min. (4K/60P with APS-C crop)
– Full HD/120P for slow motion
– Interval Timer, Wireless Remote Shooting
– Weather Sealed
The Nikon Z6III (24.5 MP, US $1,999.95) is the cousin of the high resolution Z 7III (45.7 MP, US $2,799.95). If you need much more resolution (e.g. for landscape and portrait/studio photography), then consider the Nikon Z 7III. The Z6III should be excellent for sports, wedding and wildlife photography.
