THE CARRY-ALL SOLUTION FOR THE SYSTEM THAT CAPTURES
IT ALL: OLYMPUS® CBG-12 PREMIUM CAMERA BACKPACK
New camera backpack is an ergonomically designed, water-repellent, durable case that protects the entire OM-D E-M1 Mark II System in the harshest conditions
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — November 2, 2016 — Olympus is pleased to announce that the new CBG-12 Premium Camera Backpack is scheduled to be available at the end of December 2016. The compact, rugged pack is designed for the on-the-go photo enthusiast who wants to carry a variety of Olympus OM-D series cameras, interchangeable lenses and accessories for a wide range of shooting situations.
The CBG-12 Premium Camera Backpack has been developed to store the entire Olympus OM-D® E-M1 Mark II system with room to spare. The backpack effectively distributes the weight of multiple pieces of gear so photographers can carry it comfortably for long periods of time. It easily holds two OM-D E-M1 Mark II cameras with HLD-9 Powered Grips attached, M.ZUIKO® Digital ED 7-14mm F2.8 PRO, M.ZUIKO Digital ED 12-40mm F2.8 PRO, M.ZUIKO Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO and M.ZUIKO Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO interchangeable lenses, along with other accessories and a laptop, throughout a day’s journey.
The 18 included partitions may be positioned or removed to customize the backpack’s storage pattern in order to match multiple system configuration and equipment needs. In addition to the main compartment opening, two openings on the left side of the backpack offer quick access to your camera for spontaneous shooting moments.
The same stainless lens mount used on the OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera is incorporated as an emblem on the back of the CBG-12 Premium Camera Backpack, assuring the user that it has been designed with same high level of reliability and mobility found in the Olympus OM-D series.
Key Features
1. A compact design with storage capacity for the entire Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II system
The CBG-12 Premium Camera Backpack features outstanding storage capacity that easily houses an entire shooting system, including two Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II cameras with HLD-9 Powered Grips attached, M. ZUIKO Digital ED 7-14mm F2.8 PRO, M.ZUIKO Digital ED 12-40mm F2.8 PRO, M.ZUIKO Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO, and M.ZUIKO Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO interchangeable lenses, along with other accessories, such as a FL-900R electronic flash and a laptop. Despite its outstanding storage space, the backpack is compact enough to clear carry-on luggage standards for aircraft[1], allowing users to keep their gear nearby at all times.

2. Effective load distribution reduces fatigue
The CBG-12 is designed to minimize the load on the body when carrying equipment for long periods of time. Shoulder straps and a waist belt are equipped with the same type of stabilizers as mountain climbing rucksacks, so users can adjust the pack to customize it for their body. Properly tightening the chest straps helps keep the shoulder straps from shaking and stabilizes the body when carrying heavy equipment. The length and shape of the rear panel of the backpack has been carefully designed to appropriately distribute weight across the shoulders and waist and a thick lumbar pad decreases strain on users’ shoulders. A mesh pad with an open center helps keep your back cool.
3. Water-repellent, well-built materials for reliability in harsh conditions
The exterior of the CBG-12 is made of the same highly-durable, 2520D (denier)2 polyester material used in many outdoor backpacks. The exterior shell features water repellent capabilities to protect user’s gear and material is incorporated throughout to effectively cushion the backpack for added protection. Waterproof and abrasion resistant tarpaulin material is also used on the bottom of the backpack, an area that is particularly prone to soiling and scratching. Rubber feet on the bottom deliver enhanced dirt resistance and durability.
4. Various storage configurations to match any shooting situation
A total of 18 partitions are included in six different shapes to provide a variety of storage options. Cushioned and 12mm thick, the partitions may be positioned or removed to perfectly compliment the amount of equipment being stored. In addition to the main compartment opening, there are two side openings on the left side of the backpack that are wide enough for quick access to equipment including the OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera with attached HLD-9 Powered Grip.
5. The lens mount emblem indicates the OM-D series’ reliability and portability
The same stainless lens mount used on the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera serves as an emblem on the back of the CBG-12 and assures the user that the backpack is designed with the same high level of reliability and mobility found in the OM-D series.
Other Features:
Yellow material lining the inner edges serves as a visual reminder to close the backpack
The edges of the main opening are lined with yellow material. When the fasteners are not closed, the yellow lining is visible from the outside, providing a noticeable visual reminder to close the backpack.
Two rain covers for harsh weather
Although the CBG-12 features excellent water repellent properties, it comes with two rain covers to protect against the elements. The wet cover can be stored separately from equipment after use.
Water-repellent groundsheet
The CBG-12 also comes with a water-repellent groundsheet to protect the backpack from getting dirty when placed on the ground.
Thick-padded handle
The upper section of the backpack is equipped with a thick-padded handle designed for lifting the backpack when carrying heavy loads.
Straps for securing a telephoto lens
The backpack is fitted with internal straps for stabilizing and securing large lenses such as the M. ZUIKO Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO. To use, make sure the center of gravity of the lens is close to your back and then use the internal straps to prevent the lens from moving.
Excellent expandability with other cases
For even more storage, the separately available Soft Camera Case CS-42SF, CS-44SF, and subcases included with the CBG-10 can be attached to the waist belt strap. The CSCH-123 and CSCH-124 can also be attached to the shoulder straps for even more storage options.
