Onswipe Gives Any Site The App Experience

Onswipe Demo Video from Onswipe on Vimeo.

The Apple iPad is probably on track to revolutionize how we consume information online but the way of laboriously coding an app content from scratch just doesn’t cut it. Each content provider is building their own content app, be it Wired, NYTimes, PopSci, etc. It just doesn’t make sense. You’d think Apple would provide the software that would make publishing content on its platform easy. The answer is, No, and I would guess it is by a large measure because the iPad just doesn’t currently have the CPU power to run content this way. Witness Job’s insistense (fear) that Flash won’t be allowed to run on iPad because it would break the machine.

Enter Onswipe, a platform that makes it insanely easy for a publisher of any size to provide an app like experience in the browser for their content. Why didn’t Apple think of that? Watch out, it might just buy the company.
