Painting Without A Brush Timelapse

From AmyShackletonArt

You’d think that every worker needs his or her tools of the trade, say a brush for the artist? Not so for Amy Shackleton, artist extraordinaire who eschews the paintbrush entirely and instead lets the paint drip and run where it wants to. Well, not entirely since she orients the canvas to let gravity control the flow and the result is a one-of-a-kind painting. In the video we see her work on two paintings at the same time to give time for the paint to dry, I guess.

At only 25, Toronto-based artist Amy Shackleton has exhibited paintings in New York, London, Toronto, Montreal and Calgary. Shackleton’s work was recently selected for purchase by the Colart Collection in Montreal. Shackleton received her BFA Honours Degree from York University. She paints full time from her new studio space in Toronto.
