The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 features 12.1MP resolution (1/2.33-in. CCD), 12x optical zoom (25-300mm equiv.), optical Image Stabilization to help reduce blurred shots due to camera shake, a 7.6-cm (3.0-in.) LCD display screen (460k-dot), and HD Movie 1280×720 @ 30fps in AVCHD Lite with stereo sound.

The ZS7 is Panasonic’s first GPS-enabled digital camera. The GPS (Global Positioning System) function automatically records the location data and time with every picture and movie. These geo-tagged images can be pinpointed on maps common in photo-sharing websites and social media sites – so travels can be archived and visually represented on a map – and easily shared with friends and family. The Panasonic LUMIX ZS7 also shows the name of the city, country and state, and has an internal memory that stores information for more than 500,000 popular landmarks, covering 73 countries. This travel-friendly camera also automatically adjusts its internal clock to the local time, so there’s no need to set the clock manually when traveling.

Intelligent AUTO, Intelligent Resolution and Intelligent Scene Selector make it easy for beginers while more advanced users will appreciate the availability of PASM modes. Other practical features include Happy Mode (optimizes colour, saturation and brightness), High Dynamic (Standard, Art, or B/W), and Video Divide (divide video into two sections to shorten or delete the unwanted clips directly on the camera).

The Panasonic ZS7 boasts a Sonic Speed AF (Auto Focus) feature that enables super-fast response time and a shutter release time lag as short as approximately 0.006 second. The camera’s quick response makes it easier to capture sudden, spur-of-the-moment photo opportunities – allowing users to lock on the subject in approximately 0.35 second (wide-end) / 0.41 second (tele-end). The LUMIX ZS7 also features a short startup time of approximately 1.1 second.

The Panasonic ZS7 uses the SD / SDHC / SDXC (up to 64GB) memory card.
