Enter the Photography Book Now Contest Deadline July 14

Hey photo book makers, the deadline for Photography Book Now is July 14, 2011. Submit your work for a chance to win $25k.

If you like to publish photography books, here’s your chance to showcase your work to a world-renowned panel of judges and take a shot at a $25,000 grand prize!

PBN is open to working photographers, students, and creative enthusiasts, and is judged in four categories: Fine Art, Documentary, Travel, and Student.

You’ve got to hurry though since the deadline is fast approaching next week on July 14, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. PDT (22:00 GMT).

Here are the seven judging criteria:

Caveat: you got to pay a Contest Submission Administration Fee (US $35, €27.50, £20, AUD $35, CAD $35) to enter the contest. You can enter as many entries as you like in any category, though each submission must be made using a separate entry form and include a separate Submission Fee.

6. USE OF SUBMISSIONS

Copyright and all other rights remain those of Contestant and/or any third parties from whom Contestant has obtained permission to use the third party’s material(s). Any book or image of the book used by Sponsor shall carry the photographer’s credit line. Use may include publication in any Blurb publication or web site. All Contestants understand and agree that any Submission may be used by Sponsor for marketing and promotional purposes including in any media such as exhibitions, print and digital media. All winning Contestants understand that their name, likeness and winning Submission will be used for marketing and promotional purposes including in any media such as publicity, exhibitions, print and digital media.

Sponsor reserves the right, but not the obligation, to display and distribute the Submissions for promotional purposes. By entering this Promotion, you grant the Sponsor a royalty-free, world-wide, fully paid-up, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, distribute, modify, adapt, and publicly display your submission; and to make derivative works of the Submissions, or edit Submission for practical and cost considerations, for use as display models in trade shows and exhibitions, and for promotional purposes.

Final call for Canadian entries

Blurb’s Photography Book Now offers $25,000 Grand Prize

Blurb, a publishing platform that makes it easy to design, publish and sell professional-quality books is announcing the final call for Canadians to submit their entry for its fourth annual Photography Book Now competition. Gather your best work into a photography book for a chance to win $25,000 and international recognition.

Photography Book Now celebrates the very best in self-published photography books and the photographers behind them. For the first time, the competition will also celebrate up-and-coming talent with a Student category. Entries will be accepted in three professional categories – Fine Art, Documentary and Travel.

Noted photography book expert Darius Himes returns to the competition for the fourth year as lead judge. In this role, Himes will lead a panel of distinguished photographers, publishers, editors and gallery curators who will jury the Photography Book Now competition. The 2011 competition jurors include:

Submissions from the competition’s first three years have set the bar high, and our jurors are looking forward to seeing even more inspiring work this year.”
