Leica Invites You To Play With Danny MacAskill and Win A Leica

Danny MacAskill Plays capetown, Part 2 from leica camera on Vimeo.

Hmmm, clever little advertising ploy to engage viewers and fans — and presumably, to cement that relationship to the Leica brand.

According to Wikipedia: “Danny MacAskill, (born 23 December 1985) also known as ‘Danny MegaSkill’, is a Scottish street trials pro rider for Inspired Bicycles Ltd. He released ‘April 2009’, a five-and-a-half-minute street trials video, filmed by his flatmate Dave Sowerby, on YouTube on the 19th April 2009. The video quickly gained popular acclaim and widespread media attention. The video features stunts performed by MacAskill set to ‘The Funeral’ by Band of Horses.”

Fame via the Internet. Happens more and more often now. Danny MacAskill now appears on video commercials for major brands.

So, Leica is now featuring him in Cape Town and you get the chance to decide what stunt he does on his bike. Vote, and get a chance to win a new Leica camera.
