Pluto: Planet of the Sith

Using actual New Horizons data and digital elevation models, NASA mission scientists have created flyover movies of Pluto and its largest moon Charon. The dramatic Pluto flyover shows dark, cratered terrain, rugged and fractured highlands, deep and wide pits, bladed terrain, and a great expanse of nitrogen ice–exactly where a Dark Lord of the Sith would inhabit.

The Charon flyover isn’t any more welcoming: wide chasm dividing the landscapes, a colorful depression (appropriately dubbed Mordor), craters, mountains, and crevices–and darkness seems to permanently cover the moon. Amazing pictures and videos.
