MISSISSAUGA, ON, January 15, 2009 – Canon Canada Inc., the leading provider of digital imaging solutions, today announced the newest member of the popular A-series PowerShot digital camera line, the 10.0 megapixel PowerShot A480. The new digital camera features a 3.3x optical zoom lens (37 mm – 122 mm), Canon’s DIGIC III image processor and a large 6.35-centimetre LCD display. Available in four eye catching colours – King Silver, Queen Red, Bishop Blue and Knight Black – this compact camera is the perfect travel companion for the photographer on the go.

In addition to the 10.0 megapixels and optical zoom lens, the Canon PowerShot A480 digital camera is loaded with a full range of the high performance features, including Genuine Canon Face Detection Technology, Red Eye Correction, and VGA Movie Mode for capturing high-resolution still images while shooting video. The PowerShot A480 also incorporates the Super Macro Mode that takes you in even closer to your subject, allowing the user to aim from as little as one centimetre from the tip of the lens and capture a full 10.0 megapixels of detail.
