July 22, 2009, Mississauga, ON – Fujifilm announces the FinePix J30, offering point-and-shoot appeal packed into a stylish metal body. Featuring a 12 megapixel sensor and boasting a 2.7” LCD screen, high-quality and pin-sharp 3x optical zoom, New Intelligent Scene Recognition and Face Detection technology with Automatic Red-eye removal, the J30 also comes with Panorama Mode, a first in a J-series camera.
Fujifilm’s J-Series has been a huge hit with consumers who demand a compact digital camera that’s affordable, easy-to-use and produces great images. At only 20 mm thin, and available in a number of different colours, the FinePix J30 has been finished with a special double coated laminate to give a beautiful, glossy finish. It also has a Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery for quick and easy charging.

Top Technology at your Fingertips
Intelligent Scene Recognition has now been rolled out to Fujifilm’s entry level compacts to offer all consumers the ability to take fantastic photos at the touch of a button. Intelligent Scene Recognition (ISR AUTO) detects a scene (Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Backlit Portrait, Night and Night Portrait) and the camera automatically adjusts the exposure, focus and white balance to reveal perfect shots, regardless of the conditions or subject. With ISR AUTO all you have to do is point and shoot.
Perfect Portraits
Creating perfect people pictures is easy with Fujifilm’s highly-effective Face Detection technology. Use Face Detection to find all the faces in the frame and automatically adjust the focus and exposure to reveal flawless portraits of friends and family. Automatic red-eye removal instantly detects and removes red eyes as the photo is being taken.
Picture Stabilization and High ISO
The FinePix J30 features Fujifilm’s Picture Stabilization mode which ensures that image blur is kept to a minimum – great when shooting fast moving subjects.
Additionally, with an ISO sensitivity of up to 3200 (at 3MP) the FinePix J30 allows you to capture detailed images with low noise in low-light conditions, without the need to employ the flash which can often bleach out subjects unnecessarily.
Make a Movie
Sometimes still shots are not enough to capture those special moments. Using the FinePix J30’s Movie Mode you can now get really creative and capture your own video clips with sound and the ability to zoom during movie recording just like a camcorder.
The FinePix J30 is expected to be available to Canadian consumers in September 2009 at a suggested retail price of CAD $149.99. The camera will be offered in 3 colours – Black, Pink and Blue and comes with a 2 Year Canadian Manufacturer’s Warranty.
