Olympus Monocular i Features 6x Magnification, Water and Fog Proof

The Olympus Monocular i does not look like your regular low-powered spotting scope or monocular but more like a high-end fashion optics complete with its expensive-looking carry pouch. Compact (87 x 38 mm / 3.4″ x 1.5″) and lightweight (70 g / 2.5 oz), you could just carry it in your pocket or small purse.

It provides 6x magnification, is weatherproof (waterproof to a depth of 1 m for 5 mins) and, being nitrogen-filled, resists condensation.

While it will most probably end up being used in a traditional setting such as at the theater, opera, concert, for bird counting, (or to look like a spy), I wonder if a photographer could also use it to quickly decide if a tele lens change would yield an interesting composition. I would use one to check if that egret I have been after for some time now is really perched on that island in the middle of the pond (or are these just some branches?) before actually opening my camera pack and take out my camera and tele lens.
