Samyang Announces 35mm F1.2 Photo Lens & 35mm T1.3 Cine Lens for APS-C Mirrorless Cameras

This is Week 3 of Samyang‘s 5-week 2016 Summer Blockbusters, where they announce a new lens each Monday. Last two Mondays, they have announced the 1) XEEN 135mm T2.2 Professional 4K+ Video-Cinema Lens, and 2) the AF 50/1.4 FE (Samyang AF 50/1.4 FE). And this Monday, it is the turn for the 3) 35mm F1.2 Photo Lens (Samyang 35mm F1.2 ED AS UMC CS) for stills photography and the equivalent 35mm T1.3 Cine Lens (35mm T1.3 ED AS UMC CS) for video.

These are both manual focus lenses for APS-C mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensor size compatible with four camera mounts: Sony E, MFT, Fujifilm X and Canon M.

The bright F1.2 aperture in the photo lens (equivalent of T1.3 in the cine lens) allows the use of a faster shutter speed in dim light and is ideal for obtaining smooth bokeh when wide open. The 35mm T1.3 Cine Lens is optimally designed for professional follow focus system, thanks to the quiet and smooth de-clicked focus and aperture gear rings. Also, the distance scale and T numbers are marked on both sides of the lens for convenience when filming.

The lenses feature nine glasses in seven groups, with two aspherical lenses to minimise aberration and Ultra Multi Coating to prevent unnecessary light dispersion, delivering high resolution from the centre to the corners of the image.

Each lens accept 62mm diameter filters. Minimum focusing distance is 0.38m.
