Photographers have been — and are still being — hassled by security personnel and police over photographing in public places, especially if said places are deemed high security. However, we have also witnessed police appealing to the public — and even going to Flickr — for photos about events where they want to identify perpetrators of crime. The recent G20 Summit in Toronto comes to mind where Police used public photos to identify members of the Black Bloc.
