Johan’s Ark Takes Shape

Johan Huibers, an expert builder, is attempting to build a full-scale replica of Noah’s ark complete with [plastic] animals. He’s been at it for the past three years in Dordrecht, Netherlands, carefully following the description in the Bible. After a nightmare that Holland suffers a great flood, he was inspired to prepare for that eventuality. Once completed, hopefully before the London Olympics, he plans to sail the ark up the Thames.

In the disaster movie 2012, the wealthy paid US $1B per person for a spot on such a gargantuan ark (built, in all places, in China). I wonder how much is a ticket to guarantee a spot on board Johan’s Ark?
