How do you recognize a real photographer? Surely, a real photographer does not use a point-and-shoot camera… without telling everyone in sight that “my other camera is a DSLR.”
Paul Burwell has borrowed from the “Real Programmers Don’t Write Specs” manifesto to publish his own tongue-in-cheek “Top 18 assertions about Real photographers.”
I thought I’d give it a try, too…
A real photographer:
- does not use a point-and-shoot camera… without telling everyone in sight that “my other camera is a DSLR.”
- does not use the term “mirrorless DSLR” because it is an oxymoron.
- only uses full frame DSLRs because anything less is for “enthusiasts.”
- uses an external light meter and always takes 20 minutes to meter the zones before clicking the shutter.
- reveres Ansel Adams.
- always shoots RAW.
- never admits it’s post processing and not the camera or their skills that account for the great image.
- only reads DPReview [you know what that makes you].
- takes B&W pictures that require 1000 words to explain what they are about.
- uses serious music in their Vimeo videos.
- always does a Behind the Scenes to explain how much work it took to take the picture or video.
- uses Flash on their website.
- add your own…
