What:
Today Samsung smashed the Selfie Relay Chain GUINNESS World Record with 283 consecutive selfies at the #DITCHtheDSLR event at Los Angeles’ iconic Hollywood and Highland promenade. Entertainer and host of America’s Got Talent, Nick Cannon, served as the event’s emcee, taking photos with everyone who participated. Actress and Dancing with the Stars’ judge Julianne Hough also joined the attempt to benefit Habit for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA).Habitat LA will use the $50,000 donation to build and renovate more homes throughout greater Los Angeles for more low-income, hardworking families and individuals.
The event showcased the award-winning Samsung NX line of compact system cameras (CSC), including the NX30 and NX Mini, which offer more compact and nimble photography options for consumers of all experience levels. The NX30 outperforms DSLRs and features class-leading connectivity that photographers have come to expect. The NX Mini, with its ultraslim design and the versatility of interchangeable lenses, makes a great option for photographer’s looking to travel light without sacrificing capability.
Photo enthusiasts lined up overnight for a chance to #DITCHtheDSLR for a Samsung NX30 or NX Mini camera. In total, hundreds of cameras were traded-in for state-of-the-art Samsung NX CSCs. Thousands more interacted with the various demonstration stations, including the opportunity to get their own star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.
