The market meltdown, the growing job unemployment, the child poverty,… all the gloomy news can get us down and cause us to become an island unto ourselves. Or, we can open our hearts and write the story of what defines us as humans: that we reach out and help others in times of need.
Raising awareness for the Save the Children Campaign in East Africa
Donations Link: http://www.imgonnabeyourfriend.orgThe devastating food crisis in Somalia and across East Africa is the worst in decades. Over 12 million people are affected — many have no food, no water and have lost all their livestock. Millions of children face starvation if help is not delivered now. Save the Children and other aid agencies have launched a huge emergency response across the region and are on the ground delivering life-saving aid.
The ‘I’m Gonna Be Your Friend’ campaign supports Save the Children’s appeal, helping raise funds for urgently needed food, water and medicine. This huge social media campaign has already unified the entertainment world, with over 150 of the world’s most influential musicians, artists, sports stars and celebrities all posting details on the campaign to their Twitter and Facebook fans.
