Robotic technology has come a long way from the crude pincers of yesteryear to today’s hands that can almost mimic our natural hand movements. The newest robotic hands use compressed air to enable them to touch, pick up a light bulb without breaking it, and manipulate objects. They are the latest inventions of the Shadow Robot Company — a name that is generally used to depict “the bad guys” in movies — a UK-based company with a list of customers that include NASA, ABB, Fujimoto, and even LEGO.
