Skott Chandler House Watch Photography Project Uses Original Perspective

I’ve been noticing a lot lately that whenever the main actors in a movie enter a major room, the perspective suddenly changes from “on the ground” to “from the ceiling.” For a few seconds, the view from the ceiling showing the actors striding purposefully into the room makes for a dramatic scene.

Skott Chandler takes the same high road, placing his pinhole cameras on the ceiling, looking on the view straight down, casting “an unflinching gaze upon the inhabitants and rooms within the walls; not to judge, but to witness.” While not as dramatic a statement as in a movie, the resulting photograph is nevertheless quite revealing and the original perspective is definitely refreshing.
